Doctor’s license suspended following criminal conviction

An internal medicine doctor in Livonia who was convicted of a crime is likely to have his medical license suspended by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.

According to reports, Dr. Keith Pierce was sentenced to five years probation in November after giving fraudulent information to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. During the probation Dr. Keith will have to pay around $395,000 worth of damages, undergo GPS monitoring program, and will no longer be able to participate in clinical trials.

The state’s licensing spokeswoman Jeannine Vogel said Dr. Pierce has 30 days to file an appeal to counter the suspension of his license.
