Professional Accomplishments

Bob Simpson was licensed to practice law in Texas in 1969.

Board Certified Specialist in Administrative Law

In 1990, Mr. Simpson was Board Certified in Administrative Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization (“TBLS”) and has been recertified every five years since. Board Certification is a mark of excellence and a distinguishing accomplishment, recognizing that an attorney has substantial, relevant experience in a select field of law as well as demonstrated, and tested, special competence in that area of law. There are more than 70,000 attorneys licensed to practice in Texas, but only 153 are Board Certified in Administrative Law. Board Certified lawyers are the only lawyers that are allowed by the State Bar of Texas to publicly represent themselves as a specialist in a select area of the law. This designation sets them apart as being an attorney with the highest public commitment to excellence in their area of law. Board Certification requires an ongoing involvement in the specialty area which is substantiated with references from peers in that field every five years. It also requires annual professional refreshment through TBLS approved, continuing legal education course work to stay abreast of current trends in law. Mr. Simpson served on the Council of the Administrative Law Section of the State Bar of Texas from 1992-1999 and as President of the Council during the last year.

Holds AV Preeminent® Rating by Martindale-Hubble®Peer Review Ratings™

An AV Preeminent® Rating, the highest rating given by Martindale-Hubble, is an objective indicator of a lawyer’s high ethical standards and professional ability. Martindale-Hubbell facilitates surveys of lawyers for evaluations by other lawyers and the judiciary in the United States and Canada. The ratings appear in the Martindale-Hubbell® Law Directory, in the online listings on martindale.com®, Lawyers.comSM, on the Martindale-Hubbell services, on Martindale-Hubbell mobile apps. Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Ratings™ take two factors into consideration. A lawyer must receive a “Very High” rating on General Ethical Standards, denoting adherence to criteria relevant to the discharge of professional responsibilities, such as standards of professional conduct, ethics, reliability, and diligence. Those lawyers who meet this “Very High” standard are evaluated on the second factor – Legal Ability, which is an assessment of the following key areas:
  • Legal Knowledge — familiarity with laws governing the specific area of practice.
  • Analytical Capabilities — creativity in analyzing legal issues and applying technical knowledge.
  • Judgment — ability to evaluate the salient factors that drive the outcome of a given case or issue.
  • Communication Ability — capability to communicate persuasively and credibly.
  • Legal Experience — degree of experience in his/her specific area of practice.
AV Preeminent® is a significant rating accomplishment — a testament to the fact that Robert Simpson’s peers rank him at the highest level of professional excellence. Source: Martindale-Hubbell.
