A Houston-area physician with his own practice in Kingwood was disciplined by the State Medical Board after a patient filed a complaint. The patient, who later developed cancer, claims the doctor failed to personally review his CT scans.
The board later decided that the pulmonologist failed to meet the standard of care and safeguard against possible complications. According to Our Tribune, he must complete 10 hours of continuing medical education on risk management within one year.
The doctor has never been disciplined by the board and is said to have cooperated with the investigation. He is employed at St. Luke’s, Northeast Memorial Hermann, and Methodist Hospital.
