A pain management doctor out of Pearland has had his license temporarily suspended after an investigation uncovered unlicensed clinic employees were prescribing controlled substances to patients.
Along with the unlicensed doctors prescribing medication, the patients were also not given appropriate treatment plans or evaluations. The Drug Enforcement Agency and the Texas Medical Board worked together to conduct the investigation.
Last May, the certificates for four Houston-area pain clinics overseen by the doctor were temporarily suspended when the board discovered that they were not owned by a physician. A temporary suspension hearing for the doctor is scheduled for the next couple of weeks.
