The Texas Medical Board has filed a complaint against a Corpus Christi pain doctor after he allegedly improperly prescribed 16 patients with histories of substance abuse pain medication, including one patient who overdosed on OxyContin.
A former nurse of the doctor also filed a complaint to the board, stating she believed his prescribing was unsafe and dangerous. Along with his allegations of improper pain prescribing, the doctor is also accused of witness intimidation after he counter-sued the nurse to stop her complaints.
He is still able to practice medicine at this time and no restrictions have been placed on his medical license at this time.
