Last week, a hospital psychiatrist was fired from Terrell State Hospital for violating a settlement agreement he signed in 1998.
The doctor was fired from a mental health clinic near Fort Worth in the late 1990s for undisclosed reasons. A lawsuit settlement he signed with the clinic stated he would never seek employment at a state mental health/mental retardation clinic or center in Texas. Records show the doctor was hired at three different mental health facilities since then.
In 2004 he was fired from West Texas Centers for Mental Health Mental Retardation after he had an inappropriate relationship with a 23 year-old patient who suffered from bipolar disorder and depression- a second-degree felony. State health officials fired the psychiatrist due to his failure to disclose his ban.
