Conrad Murray found guilty, loses license

Michael Jackson’s physician at the time of his death, 58 year-old Conrad Murray, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter yesterday by a twelve-panel jury.

For the past six weeks, jurors heard testimony from over four dozen witnesses and were presented with over 300 pieces of evidence. It took the seven men and five women nine hours over a two-day period before unanimously reaching a guilty verdict.

Jackson died after receiving a lethal dose of the anesthetic propofol. Murray says he gave Jackson the prescription, but claims the singer administered the fatal does himself. Prosecutors claim that Murray gave it to Jackson.

The former cardiologist will lose his medical license and could face anywhere from probation to four years in jail. H is sentencing date is November 29.
