A physician from Victoria was recently suspended by the Texas Medical Board for overcharging patients for office visits and dispensing medicine without examining patients.
The physician was found to have been charging patients $200-300 for monthly office visits and sending patients medicine through the mail without examining them to make sure they needed the medication. The physician also had two unlicensed medical students writing prescriptions, which she would then sign.
The physician has been deemed unsafe to patients by the Medical Board and has been temporarily suspended from practicing medicine.
