A Manhattan oncologist had his license reinstated by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts this week following a one year suspension.
The suspension was originally given after a Riley County jury found the physician guilty of aggravated battery on a Kansas State University professor with whom he had a fight.
The doctor paid more than $2,300 in fines, received a psychiatric review, and completed 30 hours of anger management before the board voted on his reinstatement.
“[My client] has worked very hard to get to the point where he has gained the board’s trust again and I believe that their statement today shows that they do trust him to be a safe, competent, moral, and an ethical physician,” said Reitz’s attorney.
