Oscar San Miguel
Prior to attending law school Oscar San Miguel had a career in the medical field. He began as an orderly at age 18 in the emergency room. He was trained and practiced as an operating room scrub technician for several years. In 1978 Oscar was hired by a group of orthopedic surgeons where he was trained and certified as an orthopedic physician assistant until 1984 when he attended law school in Austin, Texas. His career in the medical field presented an opportunity to work closely for many years with Physicians of various specialties, Certified Nurse Anesthetists, Registered Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses and Operating Room Technicians.
Licensed to practice law since 1987, Oscar has represented the State of Texas as an Assistant Attorney General and more recently represented the Texas Medical Board before returning to private practice representing medical professionals before their respective boards. He represented the Medical Board in cases involving physician disciplinary matters including more than 100 informal settlement conferences and numerous Temporary Suspensions. He is also experienced in contested case litigation at the State Office of Administrative Hearings.
Oscar has 20 years experience in civil litigation including having taken hundreds of depositions, attended dozens of mediations and tried numerous lawsuits to jury verdict.
